Celebrating Our 40th Anniversary   When Welles Guilmartin started his accounting firm on Court Street in Middletown in 1972, Richard Nixon was President and the personal computer was unheard of. Tax returns were done by hand, and the Internal Revenue Code was only an inch thick. The biggest challenge his business faced was soliciting new clients, as any type of marketing or advertising was banned. Fast forward to 2012... Ironically, for the short term, we're back on the street where we first began, but the business environment has changed dramatically. The Internal Revenue Code is at least a foot thick and the biggest challenges we face today are keeping pace with the ever increasing complexity of accounting, auditing and tax law changes. Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC has remained strong over the years and weathered many economic and environmental storms. Soon we will be moving back to the location on Main Street where our firm prospered for many years by expanding our professional capabilities. Forty years ago GDS began with a staff of three to service a few hundred clients; today we have a staff of twenty and provide services to thousands of individuals and organizations.  This year, as Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC celebrates our 40 year Anniversary in business, we owe our longevity, not only to our loyal clients but also to the support of our entire community. Though the times have changed, we are grateful to have kept many of the clients who started with us many years ago and to be in the community that has always been home to us.
